Asphalt shingles

5-year workmanship warranty

If your roof is leaking in multiple spots, showing curling or missing shingles across a wide area, or pushing 20-plus years in the Texas sun — repair probably won’t cut it anymore. Full replacements in DFW are most often caused by hail damage or a roof that’s just been cooked one too many summers. We’ll do a free inspection first and give you a straight answer on whether you actually need a replacement or if a repair will hold.

Signs your roof needs replacing

1. Over 20 years old

Texas heat ages asphalt shingles faster than milder climates. A roof past 20 years is worth a serious look even if it hasn’t failed yet.

2. Multiple leaks in different spots

One leak can often be patched. If water is getting in from several areas, the roof is telling you something bigger is going on.

3. Curling, cracking, or missing shingles across wide areas

Localized shingle damage is fixable. When it’s spread across large sections of the roof, repair stops making financial sense.

4. Granules collecting in gutters or downspouts

Those dark, sand-like granules are the protective coating on your shingles. Finding large amounts in your gutters means the shingles are breaking down.

5. Sagging or uneven roofline

A roofline that dips or looks wavy can signal structural problems underneath the shingles. That’s not something to wait on.

6. Widespread hail damage after a major storm

Hail leaves dents, cracks, and granule loss that aren’t always visible from the ground. If a serious storm came through, it’s worth having someone take a look.

7. Daylight visible through the attic

If you can see light coming through the attic boards, water can get through too. That’s not a repair situation.

Why asphalt shingles for DFW

For most homes in this area, asphalt shingles are the practical call — they hold up well in Texas heat, handle storm seasons reasonably, and replacement materials are easy to source locally if you ever need work down the road. They’re not the flashiest option, but they’re proven and cost-effective for residential roofing in this climate. For what DFW throws at a roof, they do the job.

What actually happens on replacement day

Strip the old roof

The old shingles and underlayment are pulled off down to the decking. This is when we get a clear picture of what’s underneath.

Inspect the decking

The exposed deck gets a full inspection. If we find damage, we stop right there.

We bring you over, show you exactly what we found, and get your go-ahead before any additional work begins. Nothing gets added to the bill without a conversation first.

New underlayment goes down

Once the deck is clear and approved, a fresh moisture barrier is laid across the full surface this is what works underneath the shingles to keep water out.

New shingles installed

New asphalt shingles are installed across the full roof, course by course, from the eaves up.

Cleanup and haul-away

The site gets cleaned up and all old materials are hauled away. Disposal is always included in your quote — it’s never added as a surprise charge at the end.

Timeline

We ask you upfront how fast you need it done — then we quote and staff accordingly. Got a tight window before a family visit or a rainy stretch in the forecast? We can move faster, but more hands means higher cost, and we’ll be upfront about that.

The schedule works around you, not the other way around.

DFW storms and your roof

DFW sits in one of the most active hail corridors in the country, and a single severe storm can do more damage to a roof than years of normal wear. That said, not every storm means a replacement — how much damage actually happened depends on hail size, direction, and how old the roof is going in. That’s exactly what the free inspection is for: find out what you’re actually dealing with before making any decisions.
