Chimney Leak?
It Usually Starts at the Seam.
Chimneys are one of the most common places for a roof to spring a leak — not because anything’s wrong with the chimney itself, but because it interrupts the way water flows down your roof. Water hits the chimney and has to go around it, and the flashing where the chimney meets the roof is the weak point that keeps it out. In DFW, our heat cycles loosen that flashing over time, and once there’s a gap, water finds it.
What We Do
1. Flashing repair and replacement.
Every part of the roof gets looked at not just the obvious spots. Wear patterns, lifting, cracking, granule loss it all gets noted.
2. Chimney sealing.
Brick and mortar soak up water more than people think. We waterproof the masonry, the mortar joints, and the cap so moisture stops working its way in.
3. Chimney cricket installation.
A cricket is a small angled ridge we build behind the chimney think of it as a little roof that splits water and sends it around each side instead of letting it pool up against the back. Never heard the term? Most homeowners haven’t. Wider chimneys benefit the most, since they catch more water back there.
4. Masonry inspection and minor repairs.
We look over the brick and mortar for cracks, gaps, and crumbling spots, and patch up the small stuff before it turns into the big stuff.
